test: add unit tests for PR#97
This PR adds comprehensive unit tests for the changes introduced in PR#97.
Changes:
Tests cover the updated Apple clang version (17.0.0), target architecture
(x86_64-apple-darwin24.6.0), and Cppcheck version (2.18.0) changes in the README.md file.
